The adventurers are beginning to make a name for themselves.  Word has spread around town about the help they gave the acolyte of Chauntea, Adabra Gwynn.  Truth be told, when the duo walked into town, the people didn’t know what to make of the odd pairing of elf and half-orc as they walked by.  Still, the rumor mill was right this time.  They were not passing through.  They were looking for work.

Good thing too, since there’s talk of a white dragon in the area.  A lot of the folk in town have only just recently moved here.   So, the idea of dying before they have had a chance to make their mark here is not attractive.

The strange elf walking into town a couple of days later drew more than a few eyes.  His eyes darted here and there as though he was looking for something.  A bump of shoulders in the street draws a squint eyed look from the traveler as though he is looking to see something he recognized.  Either way, the grey elf traveler headed into the Inn and next time he came out he had travelling partners.

In the short time that the duo entered town.  The first real adventurers seen around these parts for a while… things have been quiet, aside from a dragon sighting or two.  More have come into town.  Probably due to Harber Wester’s advertising.  Even young Drew came back from the abbey after hearing about his mother’s troubles. Good lad.

Drew joined up with the group as well. They set out right away out of town.

Jadoc, Flak, Kevan and Drew accepted the job to go to Butterscotch ranch.  The ranch is almost a days trip to the north on the Triboar trail.  When they get to Conyberry they find a cow and some horses belonging to the ranch.  They take the livestock back to the ranch and tie them to a fence before going in.  As they approach the ranch, they can clearly see signs of struggle.  Dead orcs and humans litter the ground in some areas.  The sound of voices and breaking glass breaks the silence and covers their approach.  The voices become clearer to hear as they make their way closer… Orcs.

Flak takes the lead with Drew close behind.  They stack up against the wall by the door and wait for the others to get into position.  Flak opens the door and bursts in catching the group by surprise.  Short work is made of the orcs as they were not expecting an attack.  After clearing the first level, screams from below draw their attention.

The group heads down to see an orc holding a human off his feet by the neck. They also see a man tied down in a chair.  To late to stop what comes next, flak and Drew watch as the orc cut the head off the man being held.  His head drops to the ground and the body follows as though discarded.  The gruesome sight fuels the anger the adventurers as they go about the task of dispatching the orcs.

The orcs don’t stand a chance as Flak, Drew and Kevan enter hand to hand as Jovan stays by the stairs using spell that burn and slay. The group prevail, in time to save Big Al, but not in time to save anyone else.

They untie Big Al and he thanks them for the help.  He needed it.

After securing the area, the group escort Big Al back to Phandalin.  He will find more help and replenish his supplies while in town.

The party decides to camp in Conyberry. Since the night prevented safe travel.  Unfortunately, Conyberry is not a safe place at night either.  It is not long before the adventurers are attacked by undead.  Skeletons and zombies attack from all sides.  Fortunately, the group is more than enough for the challenge.  The undead are ended quickly with sword and spell.

Feeling that further investigation was needed. The party seek out the source of the undead.  A cemetery they came across earlier in the day presents a possible place to check out.  As they approach, an eerie figure is seen floating in the tree line behind the cemetery.  The creature notices them and closes the distance.  With a loud wail the creature attempts to suck the life out of the adventurers.  The attempt fails to end their lives, but let’s them know they are not ready for this creature.

Just as they contemplate their next move, another armored man approaches out of the night and suggests a retreat.  The suggestion Is sound and the party disengages from the threat.  The man Thelonius Akinradewe introduces himself and his travelling companion, Ishil.  Ishil, a Yuan-Ti of noble bearing comes out of the shadows.   He waits for the commons reaction of horror and mistrust, but none came.  Only the hungry look of Flak as he considers a potential meal.  With the only real stares coming from Flak, the adventurers decide to travel together and move on. After sharing a meal at the inn, they decide to travel together to take on the next job.
